These two samples provide graphical and tabular representations of mortality rates, length of stay, cost and charges for a variety of hospital procedures. The hospitals vary in number of beds, number of residents, medicare patient percentage, location and managed care penetration.

Hospital Benchmarking Graphical Analysis

This simple demonstration illustrates the power of distributed statistical analysis in which sophisticated statistical and graphical analyses can be delivered to clients via a web browser. This allows consistent data summary and presentation using centrally accepted, state-of-the-art analysis without requiring client support. The demonstration uses S-PLUS (StatServer) as the statistics and graphics engine, pulls the data from SQL-Server and uses Waratah middleware objects inside MTS to manage the user sessions. Client-side scripting provides user guidance and an intelligent user experience.
