Michael O'Connell is an adjunct professor in the North Carolina State University Department of Statistics.

DM Review published a Waratah review detailing a remote data mining system created using Insightful's StatServer.

The book Case Studies in Environmental Science includes a chapter co-written by Michael O'Connell.
